A herb with excellent astringent, diuretic and palliative properties, nettle has been known and used since antiquity for its detoxifying and rejuvenating effect. Its scientific name, Urtica, comes from the Latin verb urere meaning “to burn”, because of the skin burning sensation caused by contact with the plant – a property that exists to protect it, but is also the origin of its beneficial properties. Nettle makes an ideal beverage for everyone and for all hours of the day, since it is naturally caffeine-free
Origin
Nettle is an herbaceous plant that grows in soil rich in nitrates, which give the plant the distinctive properties that make it so exceptional. Part of our nettle originates from wild populations of the species that grows in the region of Epirus. Our nettle is collected by hand, so as not to damage the sensitive plant stems.
Hot beverage: Heat 250 ml water to 95°C. Steep the pyramid for 3-5 minutes. Ideally, cover the cup to preserve the herb’s aromas and active ingredients. Then remove the pyramid and, if you wish, add Symbeeosis honey or stevia.
Cold beverage: Prepare like a hot beverage but with half the water, then add cold water or ice

A refreshing homemade beverage that will help you to flush out excess fluids form the body and will act as a tonic on warm days.
Ingredients – for 1 pitcher (750ml)
3 Greek Organic Nettle pyramids, 1 Greek Organic Lemon Verbena pyramid, juice from half a lemon, 3-4 fresh lemon slices, cucumber slices
Method
In a pitcher, add 3 cups of water, 3 Greek Organic Nettle pyramids and 1 Greek Organic Lemon Verbena pyramid. Keep it covered in the refrigerator for 24 to 48 hours. Remove the pyramids from the pitcher and serve your iced tea in a glass with the fresh lemon slices, the lemon juice and the freshly cut cucumber.
Tip: If you would like to add Symbeeosis honey to your beverage, dissolve the honey in a little tepid water and then add it to the pitcher with the pyramids.
Be symbiotic
You can add honey or stevia, or the energizing flavor of lemon. If you wish to enhance its tonic properties, combine it with Greek Organic Mountain Tea Flowers for a bright start to your day.
